Get to know a Momenteer: Carolynn!
We are so lucky to have this lady on our team. Carolynn Burns keeps us real when it comes to the numbers, and the inner workings of running the studio. She is unfailingly helpful, and makes great saves on the daily. When you walk in the studio, Carolynn is usually the one who’ll make sure you feel welcome and happy. She’s a great cook, a compassionate soul, and has
(an almost unreasonable) a completely reasonable love of cookies. You can learn more about Carolynn on our team page. Spending time with Carolynn is always a treat. Here’s just a taste of what we love about our CB!
What’s your nickname? Or what should it be?
Burnzy (burn-zhay’) – never so much called as invoked!
What are you most proud of?
Easy! My little boy!
What concerns you most these days?
The widening disconnect between man and his fellow man in our society (sorry Jules, between person and their fellow person).
What compliment would really make your day?
Uncontrollable laughter at a classic Burnzy story!
What word do you totally love?
Lexicon (a nice woody sort of word!)
What word or words do you overuse?
“Can I tell you a funny story?”
What fictional character might be your avatar?
Bill the Cat.
Dogs or cats?
Dogs. (is that funny after I said Bill the Cat?)
Tea or coffee?
Coffee. Coffee. COFFEE!!
Beer or wine?
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Sommelier. Architect. Chef. Secret Shopper. No, definitely sommelier!
What profession would be at the bottom of your list?
Gardener. I somehow manage to kill every plant that comes within a 3m radius of me.
If you could have lunch with anyone in the world (alive or dead) who would it be?
My favourite Canadian – Terry Fox! What a wonderful opportunity to thank him for his selfless sacrifice and to let him know that his work continues to have impact in the world today. Wait, he’s buying, right?
What do you love about your work?
I truly appreciate the opportunity I have been given to serve. I’m so proud of our team and I believe that the work they do is important, valuable and necessary in the world. I have experienced myself how liberating and empowering this work can be, and I’m so grateful to be a small part of that. Plus, our group is uncommonly hilarious (if we were a network T.V. show, I’d watch us – no one else would because you know, Netflix, but I’d be tuning in every week!) – coming to the studio every day is a joy!
